It’s already week 4 of the daily college fantasy football season and today we have our picks for the Thursday/Friday games. Honestly with such a limited amount of games, and USF being more of a running team – it really limits who you can roll with. You kind of hope a team breaks out and has a big day, otherwise the matchups should be pretty tight with lots of repeated players.
I’m going to monitor this group of game until Thursday. It’s possible some injuries or suspensions can happen which will crack open some sleeper picks that can give you the edge.
Auburn (-9) at Kansas State (65 o/u)
Uconn at South Florida (-2) (47.5 o/u)
Auburn – NICK MARSHALL
His stats aren’t huge but he hasn’t be required to play at full strength yet. This game is supposed to be somewhat competitive which might lead to more opportunities.
Kansas State – JAKE WATERS
The Auburn defense is no joke, but Waters can run too so he should be able to be effective.
UCONN – CHANDLER WHITMER
His first full game was against Boise State and he did pretty good with 2 TD’s, but only had 209 yards and 2 INT’s. The good news is South Florida has given up 283 on average to teams through the air this week so he’ll likely has some room to throw.
Casey Cochran – This guy is listed as the 3rd most expensive QB on FanDuel. Don’t be a dummy …. he retired from football. Chandler Whitmer is now the starter.
Running Back Picks
Auburn – CAMERON ARTIS-PAYNE
If you can work out a lineup with Payne and Mack, you should be pretty solid at that position.
USF – MARLON MACK
This guy has 58 carries and the next closest player has 10. They’ve also had trouble throwing the ball so he’s a solid option with the limited games.
Kansas State – DEMARCUS ROBINSON
I didn’t see him on FanDuel, and on DraftKings (listed as D. Robinson) he’s only $4,900. You’re only concern is people read this article and realize he’s one of the best players on the team
Kansas State – CHARLES JONES
I only rate him lower than Robinson because it doesn’t look like he’s involved in the passing game like Robinson is. But he’s still a decent option, just has a tough matchup.
Auburn – COREY GRANT
If you need to start a cheap RB … Corey Grant will likely get about 10 touches.
Wide Receiver Picks
UCONN – GEREMY DAVIS
On a team that lacks a dominant rusher, Davis is the #1 playmaker. Auburn will likely double team him at times, which might open the door for the next closest in receptions including: DeShon Foxx (9) Kamal Abrams (5) and Thomas Lucas (5)
Auburn – D’haquille Williams
I like this guy because he’s not really that expensive and he has 13 catches on the year and next closest on the team is Melvin Ray with only 4. Only issue, I bet nearly 100% of the grinders start him because of his value & limited games to pick from. Update: See below, Coates is playing so it reduces Williams value a bit.
Auburn – SAMMIE COATES
After sitting out last game and only catching 1 ball in the 1st game he is playing. – Coates has #1 WR ability.
Kansas State – TYLER LOCKETT (7)
Clearly the #1 target for WR. But other guys get looks too. Curry Sexton (6) Deante Burton (5) and Kody Cook (4) aren’t far behind in the reception category.
Tight End Picks
Sean McQuillan (UCONN) or Zach Trujillo (KSU) should get some looks and are the safe plays.
