Week 5 of the daily college fantasy football season is arriving Thursday 10/1 and Friday 10/2. There’s a nice mix of QBs to choose from this week, I think will lead to a diverse group of lineups. Honestly, the list below isn’t in any kind of real order until you get to the last name, which is really just a gambling/sleeper type play that you hope pans out if they fall behind. The rest of the QB’s have about 2 TDs in them, the key will be selecting the one that gets 3+.
Thur/Fri CFB – WR Picks
Thur/Fri CFB – RB Picks
Here are the Thur/Fri CFB games we are selecting from:
Miami (-6) @ Cincinnati 68 o/u
Memphis (-10) @ South Florida 62 o/u
Temple (-23) @ UNC Charlotte 48 o/u
Connecticut @ BYU (-18.5) 46.5 o/u
Fairly sizeable gap between Lynch and the #2 ranked QB this week. South Florida is not a push-over defense, but Maryland moved the ball through the air fairly easily last week. If Lynch can keep his turnovers in check, he should be in line for a solid game.
Brad Kaaya – Miami
Has been trending up each week, but hasn’t found the end zone enough to move the needle on his salary much. This matchup is a good one, and if it turns into a shootout – Kaaya will rate as a solid QB start especially if Lynch fails to do much.
Hayden Moore – Cincinnati
Looked sensational last week. We hope Kiel gets better but Moore looked like he could handle his own. If this was a cupcake matchup, you could stream Moore across all lineups, but I’ll hedge myself a bit just in case the Miami defense really steps up. The only really good team Miami played was Nebraska a week ago, and Armstrong did end up with 300 yards and 4 TDs in OT. I think for Moore to really deliver you’ll need high volume of passes because Miami should keep his pass completion percentage lower than most teams.
P.J. Walker – Temple
Is the biggest favorite on the board. The only real risk is game-flow wise Walker doesn’t get many stats, but if Charlotte can somehow hang in there for a while, he could have a nice day.
Quinton Flowers – USF
Risky because he was pulled from the game last week, however the coach has indicated that he’s still the teams starting QB. Memphis was lit up last week against Bowling Green and have given up on average 333.8 yards per game so Flowers could have 2+ TD upside it it all goes perfectly.
Bryant Shirreffs – Connecticut
Could be a low-end start is some spots hoping for the game flow to lead him to be in throw/scramble mode late in the game. BYU’s defense has been tested by some quality teams/QB so I’d still be cautious with Shirreffs since his floor is pretty low.
