Daily College Fantasy Football QB Picks – Week 7 10/17 (Early Saturday)

Fairly big slate of games for this weekends daily college fantasy football matchups that start 10/17. Personally I think you’ll have a nice variety of lineups in cash games, although Mahomes will likely be the one lots of people feel comfortable with because the matchup is ideal. I don’t think you need to stray from the top 3 names in cash games on Fanduel. Draftkings is slightly different with the 2 QB’s and it might be difficult to love your lineup. I’ve included a few names toward the bottom that might surprise to the upside.

Iowa (-2.5) @ Northwestern 41 o/u
Louisiana Tech @ Miss State (-13.5) 60 o/u
Miss (-10.5) @ Memphis 69 o/u
Purdue @ Wisconsin (-23.5) 48 o/u
Tulsa @ E. Carolina (-11.5) 78 o/u
Texas Tech (-31) @ Kansas 75.5 o/u
Louisville @ Florida State (-7) 46 o/u
West Virginia @ Baylor (-21.5) 75 o/u
Akron @ Bowling Green (-11.5) 67 o/u
Alabama (-4.5) @ Texas A&M 53.5 o/u
Michigan State @ Michigan (-8) 51 o/u
Nebraska @ Minnesota (-2) 47.5 o/u
Oklahoma (-4) @ Kansas State 55.5 o/u
Rutgers @ Indiana ???
VT @ Miami (-6) 51 o/u
Oregon State @ Washington State (-8) 63 o/u
Vanderbilt @ South Carolina (-2.5) 43.5 o/u

Patrick Mahomes – Texas Tech
$9,500 Draftkings (2)
$9,300 Fanduel (2)
I faded Mahomes entirely last week and he had 5 TD’s. However, I had his main target Jakeem Grant in all my cash game lineups who had an even bigger day. This week Mahomes & crew face Kansas, and honestly this is an EVEN BETTER MATCHUP THAN LAST WEEK!! QB’s have lit up Kansas for 71.1% completion percentage, 14 TD’s vs only 4 INT’s and 299 yards per game.

Matt Johnson – Bowling Green
$9,600 Draftingkings (1)
Was rock solid last week as expected. I think this matchup is better than it looks on paper since Akron hasn’t played very many top QB’s/passing teams so far this season. I expect Johnson to be locked & loaded again this week, which should make him an ideal selection for cash games lineups if you can build a solid lineup around his hefty price tag.

Seth Russell – Baylor
$9,000 Draftkings (3)
$9,800 Fanduel (1)
Probably one of the better defenses Baylor has faced all season, but they still should have no big issues moving the ball. A closer game might actually benefit Russell, who’s often built his statline up by halftime. Russell might be a tournament option this week since other QB’s seem more attractive, which might lead to lower than normal ownership for Russell.

Luke Falk – WKU
$8,900 Draftkings
$8,800 Fanduel
Teams are running against Oregon State with better success than throwing – I’d have to imagine that WSU might not throw the ball 74 times like they did last week, but you really never know with this team. Personally, I think Falk is more of a tournament play this week – but his WR crew should all make solid plays nearly across the board because it’s likely WSU is throwing most of the game like they did last week.

Chad Kelly – Ole Miss
$7,400 Draftkings
$8,400 Fanduel
Attractive 2nd tier option at QB, especially on DK where there’s the 2 QB format. This is a really good matchup against Memphis who’ve been getting ripped up through the air for lots of yards.

Dane Evans – Tulsa
$8,000 Draftkings
$8,400 Fanduel
Not a bad option in many spots this weekend. He’s been fairly consistent all season and has 44+ passing attempts in each of the last 3 games.

Seth Collins – Oregon State
$7,100 Draftkings
$6,900 Fanduel
Had a bad game against Michigan and Arizona last week when he got hurt, but other than that he’s been pretty solid. Might be under used and at these prices probably worth a look in tournament lineups.

Ryan Willis – Kansas
$4,700 Draftkings
$4,500 Fanduel
I’d only play him in a tournament I was trying to create a wacky lineup for, but he could also be useful in certain spots on DK in the 2 QB format at this price I guess. He only had 6 fantasy points last week against Baylor, so we’re totally gambling here but he rates to throw 35+ times again in this one, and you never know how a freshman QB might do.
