Super interesting slate of daily college fantasy football. Honestly, it really depends on what site you are playing on – so this list really isn’t in any kind of order because the pricing is so different – especially at QB. All the games are fairly similar from an implied points type perspective – so I don’t think you really need to avoid any one matchup. Should be a really interesting slate with a decent amount of lineup diversity for only a 4 game slate. Should be fun for tournaments – might be a more volatile slate for cash games, so I’ll likely cut back a bit on the number of cash games I enter.
– Texas State
Can’t say that I’m familiar with this guy, but I really love this spot against a really weak ULM defense. 24 TDs vs 3 INTs (and only 15 sacks) on the passing end and 4.6 yards per carry and a hefty 221 yards per game on the ground. At these prices on Fanduel, he’s likely going to be highly owned in tournaments.
Quinton Flowers – USF
Good matchup, especially in the running game. Priced about right on Fanduel. On DK – much more appealing at $6.3k
Gunner Kiel – Cincinnati
Not a super juicy matchup but Kiel is always capable. Only real issue is you need to get 30+ fantasy points to get much upside at these prices – something he’s done only twice this season.
Brett Rypien – Boise State
Probably the most consistent QB out of the group but faces one of the better pass defense in the bunch. Still think he’s capable of 25 fantasy points … but his upside is likely capped a bit.
James Summers – ECU
Blake Kemp – ECU
The coach indicated he’ll be rolling with both against UCF.
Justin Holman – UCF
This is a favorable matchup as ECU has only 6 INTs on the season vs 15 TDs. My bet would be Holman still finds a way to throw a pick – and he’s strictly a wild gambling tournament selection since he can occasionally breakout for 20 fantasy points like last week.
Garrett Smith – ULM DOUBTFUL
Carrington will likely get his first start against one of the worst defenses in college football. Too risky for me, but certainly could be a very low-owned sleeper going against a terrible defense.
Thomas Sperbeck – Boise State
Got off to a real slow start this season and I remember writing him off a bit after week 2 – but he has EXPLODED with Rypien being the QB, and just keeps rolling. HAD 20 CATCHES LAST WEEK. But that was a super juicy matchup, this week – Air Force – looks like they are decent on paper, but going through the game logs, #1 they don’t play a ton of great passing teams. #2 several WRs had big games, including Burbridge from MSU had 3 TDs. Paying $8,800 is going to be tough even with some of the other value – and if Sperbeck bricks for even 18 fantasy points … the rest of your lineup will need to play above expectation. Anyway – I think he’s cool for cash games if you can fit him in. Tournaments maybe even more since people rostering him at $8,800 might be less than normal. Keep in mind he put up 38 fantasy points last week with 0 TDs.
Marcus Green – ULM
Do I know who this guy is? No. Do his box scores look great over the last 5 weeks? 100% Yes. This is an amzing matchup so I’ll likely roster Green in several spots.
CJ Best – Texas State
Lots of value here it looks like. Texas St really spreads the ball around so the dud factor is in play, but Best seems like the best option if pairing with QB Tyler Jones.
Rodney Adams – USF
If you’ve followed this blog for a while, I LOVE home underdog WR’s. Cincinnati is improved on pass defense this season, otherwise I’d be even higher on Adams, and I think USF could use the run game more this week in an attempt to control the ball a bit. Still, at these prices he’s not a terrible option.
Isaiah Jones – ECU
Hit or miss type player. This is a great matchup, however ECU flip/flopping QBs hurts Jones’ consistency.
Tre’Quan Smith – UCF
Marginally viable because this is a favorable matchup. Inconsistent along with the QB play.
Chris Moore, Shaq Washington, McKay – Cincinnati
I kind of lump all these guys together. I think Moore/Washington are ok to pair with Kiel in cash games. In tournaments I think all have somewhat limited upside (outside of Moore probably).
Honestly I’m only in love with 1 RB. In cash games, it might be kind of tough getting the lineup just right, but I like a few of these guys as tournament plays.
Robert Lowe – Texas St
$5,600 Draftkings (Yum Yum)
Home favorite. This is basically the best matchup the team could ask for. I think he’s 100% of Dk lineups at this point, maybe only hedge out for injury/bust factor.
Jeremy McNichols – Boise State
Pains me to say this, but I’ll off McNichols in some spots this week. Air Force is pretty solid against the run & they’ve done a pretty good job against some good college football run teams. However, most of those teams didn’t have the passing game Boise State has + McNichols is probably the teams 2nd most reliable pass catcher. So I’ll squeeze him in when I can, but I don’t think he’s a 100% must start this week.
Marlon Mack – USF
This guy is a BEAST. I suggest trying to watch him play this week if you can. Has tournament appeal because he’s not super consistent with his touches.
Ben Luckett – ULM
Has tournament appeal based on what he did last week + he was the media day guest during the teams press conference this week.
Taj McGowan – UCF
A playable $3,000 draftkings player in CFB is somewhat rare otherwise he’s not on my radar. I don’t recommend rostering him, but he’s capable of getting 10 fantasy points.
