Friday is a really interesting slate of games. They contain players we’re all familiar with – but most are pretty stiff tests defensively. The Florida/Michigan is almost a throw-away and certainly anyone selected from this game will be low-owned. The preferred game stack will be Ole Miss/OKST which has the potential to be a high scoring game … plus it’s in a dome, so no weather influences.
Chad Kelly – Ole Miss
Almost a must on Draftkings since he’s not the #1 QB on the board despite having the best matchup, o/u total … ect.
DeShone Kizer – Notre Dame
Certainly can’t blame anyone for starting Kizer since he’s very steady – and hasn’t flopped against solid defenses. I think he falls into a familiar range again this week – and if you’re comfortable with that, then I see no problem playing him.
Kevin Hogan – Stanford
Don’t mind him as a QB2 on Draftkings since Iowa is solid against the run so Stanford might be forced to throw 20+ times … which Hogan is capable of doing.
JT Barrett – Ohio State
Strictly a GPP QB since he has 4+ TD upside, you’re just not sure what to expect each week from Ohio State QBs.
Mason Rudolph – OK State
JW Walsh – OK State
I HATE QB spots like this – so I’ll be avoiding this 100%. But I could see some value here on both sites given the matchup. Walsh gets the red-zone looks, while Rudolph tends to be the main QB.
LOTS of stud RBs you should be familiar with. However, all pretty much have matchups I’d typically avoid – so I would base my decision on who to start on number of carries and who you’re going with at QB.
Justin Jackson – Northwestern
Building NFL rosters sucks now that there’s no 30+ touch RBs anymore (for the safety of the players its better that way) but in college they don’t give a s**t about 20-something (often African American) boys who are being exploited while fat rich white guys take all the money. Sound familiar?? We’ll look past all that and see that Jackson is a 30+ touch RB!!!!! And on fanduel he’s essentially under average salary.
Ezekiel Elliott – Ohio State
Declared for the NFL draft, so I’m not 100% sure that will effect his usage, but I could see situations where Elliott is shut down because he’s got a payday coming in 4 months if he can stay upright.
Christian McCaffrey – Stanford
Tough matchup, but his stats project out if you can get him 25++ touches.
Jordan Canzeri – Iowa
Very attractive on DK even in a shared role against a tough run defense.
Jalen Hurd – Tnnessee
Might be a guy you end up landing on given his price – not sure yet. Might also go overlooked because of the other big name RBs on the slate too.
CJ Prosise – Notre Dame
Tough call here. I think he’s more flyer/low owned GPP play since we’re not sure on his role (or Josh Adams) … plus it’s a tough matchup.
Okay – so at WR, there’s really only 2 guys I really like. Not saying I’ll do a 100% roster type thing with these guys, but Treadwell given the matchup/price on Draftkings might be that type of player. Personally I think you land on WR’s after you’ve chosen your QB/RB combinations. There’s upside at the WR position – but most of these teams are running teams. I certainly will take a close look at the Ole Miss/OKST game – since that could develop into a high scoring game.
Laquon Treadwell – Ole Miss
Will Fuller – Notre Dame
