Daily College Fantasy Football QB/WR/RB/TE Picks – Bowl Week (Mon/Tue)

These selections are for daily college fantasy football bowl games that begin on Monday December 21st and roll through Tuesday December 22nd. It’s an interesting slate of games. Be sure to check the weather in the Akron/Utah St AND Toledo/Temple since both have either snow or gusty winds as a risk to the passing game.

Western Kentucky (-2.5) @ South Florida 67 o/u
Akron @ Utah State (-6.5) 47 o/u
Toledo @ Temple (-2) 50 o/u

Quarterbacks

Brandon Doughty – WKU
$9,900 Fanduel
$8,700 Draftkings
$40 Yahoo
I think you need exposure to Doughty if you’re a heavy volume player, but I don’t think he’s a 100% lineup type guy in 1 QB formats because South Florida isn’t bad defensively. They played many quality QBs and didn’t get destroyed. Doughty is a high-volume guy, so I still think he makes a great selection nearly across the board …. but if you’re a GPP player, you’re going to want to fade this matchup at least a little bit.

Quinton Flowers – South Florida
$9,600 Fanduel
$7,100 Draftkings
$38 Yahoo
WKU didn’t face a ton of dual threat QBs this season. I like Flowers in this matchup because WKU will keep the pressure on South Florida to keep putting up points. I wouldn’t call Flowers ‘safe’ but his floor is pretty high I think because game flow doesn’t hurt him too much since he’s involved in the run game.

Tommy Woodson, Phillip Ely, PJ Walker, Keeton, Myers.
Okay – so on Fanduel or Yahoo … I honestly don’t see much point in getting involved here. Flowers & Doughty could have off-days and still out-produce Ely/Walker good day. Kent Myers has more appeal than anyone, but only if you’re willing to gamble should you play him since the coach won’t reveal a starter publicly. On Draftkings, you’re likely going to need to play these guys – so good luck … I’ll avoid 2 QB formats with this slate because unless you have Flowers/Doughty … it’s going to be stressful. If you like stressful situations, play on Draftkings. There’s also snow worries in the Utah State game and gusty wind worries in the Temple/Toledo matchup. Note: Boca Raton, FL is predicting “thunderstorms likely” right around when this game is supposed to be played.

Wide Receivers

Taywan Taylor – WKU
$8,300 Fanduel
$7,000 Draftkings
$38 Yahoo
Crazy premium for his services on Yahoo/Fanduel. Not really sure it’s worth it, but the chalk has hit so far … and it won’t surprise me if the chalk just hits all bowl season.

Rodney Adams – South Florida
$6,300 Fanduel
$5,500 Draftkings
$29 Yahoo
You can capture some of Flowers throwing upside by starting Adams. Certainly pairing him with Flowers would be ideal as well.

Hunter Sharp – Utah State
$7,300 Fanduel
$6,800 Draftkings
$31 Yahoo
No matter who starts for Utah State, most of the yardage will go Sharp’s way. I have him ranked lower because there could be snow in this game (and it’s going to be bitterly cold) so a weather check is advised.

Antwane Grant – WKU
$5,600 Fanduel
$4,700 Draftkings
$24 Yahoo
Below min price makes him viable.

Nicholas Norris – WKU
$5,200 Fanduel
$4,600 Draftkings
$25 Yahoo
Good low-priced option on Draftkings. Everywhere else I think you can use him similar to Grant & Dangerfield.

Jared Dangerfield – WKU
$5,300 Fanduel
$6,200 Draftkings
$26 Yahoo
Is always capable of waking up and having a really good game. I think he’s really only viable on Fanduel.

Robbie Anderson – Temple
$5,800 Fanduel
$5,200 Draftkings
$27 Yahoo
He’s below average salary everywhere but on Yahoo. I think I’d lean toward using him on DK in the full point PPR.

Sean Price – USF
$3,600 Fanduel (TE)
$3,700 Draftkings (WR)
$16 Yahoo (TE)
I don’t mind him as a cheaper TE option, especially in your Flowers lineups. On Draftkings – could be a calculated punt option at WR.

Jerome Lane & Imani Davis – Akron
The only 2 players with over 20 catches on the team. Again, it might not be a good day weather wise to play these guys, but if you don’t care about that, the game flow should force Akron to throw – and these are the two main targets.

Cody Thompson, Alonzo Russell, Corey Jones – Toledo
Jones is min priced on Fanduel. I feel about the same about all these guys … will likely put up some points, but the odds of a 20+ point game is pretty slim.

Running Back

Conor Hundley – Akron
$5,800 Fanduel
$4,600 Draftkings
$22 Yahoo
You have to figure that Hundley will be a large part of the game plan considering the only real way to move the ball against Utah State is by running. If it become apparent that the weather will be poor – that should reduce a blowout risk – and make Hundley even more viable.

Kareem Hunt – Toledo
$8,600 Fanduel
$7,400 Draftkings
$29 Yahoo
Certainly is viable as a 20++ touch RB. His stats should project out nicely, although this isn’t a super easy matchup. Teammate Terry Swanson rates to get about 15 touches as well.

Marlon Mack – USF
$8,000 Fanduel
$6,700 Draftkings
$27 Yahoo
I like Mack because he can be productive on a small number of touches if the game goes that way. I also think his price leaves plenty of room for upside on DK/Yahoo.

Jahad Thomas – Temple
$7,800 Fanduel
$7,200 Draftkings
$29 Yahoo
Has plenty of tournament appeal, but at these prices it might be tough to land on Thomas consistently when building lineups.

Anthony Wales – WKU
$7,800 Fanduel
$6,500 Draftkings
$34 Yahoo
Strictly a GPP RB for my tastes.

D’Ernest Johnson – USF
$12 Yahoo
$3,700 Draftkings
Don’t ask me why … but I think this guy will be a valuable pick on Yahoo (and maybe DK) because you either need to roster 2 TEs, a #3/4/5 WR who doesn’t normally do much, or a #2 RB. In college football – when presented those options you always take #2 RB unless a team like Oregon, Baylor … ect is on the slate.
