Here are the week 2 Late College Football Game daily fantasy rankings for RB’s. I’m avoiding the Oregon v Michigan State and LSU v Miss St, also the Indiana v FIU … but there are talented RB’s that can overcome the matchup on those teams. I think there’s some decent value on FD for some of the RBs beyond the top-end guys.
Jahad Thomas – Temple
$6,400 FanDuel Good Value
I like Thomas’ value much more on FanDuel this weekend. He had 29 touches in week 1 and there’s no real reason to belive he won’t get the bulk of the work this week against an above average matchup against Cincinnati.
Tre Madden – USC
He’s not cheap, but he’s got a great matchup against a weaker Idaho run defense. Madden is also a threat to catch the ball some too.
Jeremy McNichols – Boise State
Looks like he’s taken over a bit for Jay Ajai. 27 total touches in week 1 against Washington. This week isn’t quite as good of a matchup against BYU, but it’s not terrible. McNichols will share some carries with Kelsey Young too. I like McNichols value on FD better this week than DK.
Paul Perkins – UCLA
More effective in 1pt PPR formats since his carries will normally be south of 20. Has a good matchup against UNLV, but he’s fairly priced.
Zack Langer – Tulsa
We’ll assume this is a good matchup based on 2014 New Mexico run defense, but they only gave up 26 rushing yards week 1 to a cupcake.
Elijhaa Penny – Idaho
Expect usage rates to be high on Penny. He’s a dual threat, plus it appears he has the RB job locked up. USC gave up 208 rushing yards during week 1.
Honestly, you could roll with with a number of New Mexico running backs … your guess is as good as mine to know which one will get the most touches. I think if you’re looking for a safer play, Pressley is listed as the starter and the got the 2nd most carries with 10 week 1. This matchup is worth targeting against Tulsa, it’s unfortunate the situation is unclear.
Alex Gardner – FIU
Is listed as the #2 RB on FIU’s depth chart, but lead the team in carries and also got 5 catches out of the backfield. I love this matchup against Indiana, just hope Gardner is involved in the gameplan in a similar manner this weekend.
Madre London – Gerald Holmes – LJ Scott – Michigan State
Okay, so the Spartans are going to roll with the RB rotation, and that’s something I try to avoid for the most part. However, sometimes you can’t avoid it. This is a really good matchup against Oregon. The big issue is you need for your selection to get a TD in order to see much upside, especially with London.
Sleeper CFB RB’s
Anthon Samuel – FIU
Risky sleeper play here, but Samuel is listed as the starter and should get some looks in this game against a poor Indiana rush defense.
