Here are week 9 running back rankings for the weekend games. Just get the feeling that the talent is a little top-heavy with Gordon and Cobb having wonderful matchups that are almost un-avoidable. Everyone else I have listed here I like the matchup too, and I’ve included some guys that should save you some money too.
Week 9 QB Picks
Wisconsin – MELVIN GORDON
Great matchup against Maryland. I think I could run for 100 yards if I played for Wisconsin.
Minnesota – DAVID COBB
Has 30+ carries in each of the last 4 games. This is a great matchup against a weaker Illinois run-D.
Nebraska – AMEER ABDULLAH
Has 2 or more TD’s in each of the last 4 games.
Marshall – DEVON JOHNSON
Doesn’t always get a ton of touches, but seems to make the most of them and has a good matchup this week against FAU.
Old Dominion – RAY LAWRY
Somewhat of a sleeper pick, he’s slated to get his 1st start this weekend, but does have a pair of 100+ yard games the last two, so he’s not super cheap. The matchup against Western Kentucky is a really good one too.
TCU – B.J. CATALON
Has a TD in every game this season and Texas Tech is a good matchup.
Pittsburgh – JAMES CONNER
You worry a bit because his caries are coming down, but faces a fairly weak Georgia Tech defense this week and he’s not super expensive.
Mississippi State – JOSH ROBINSON
Has at least 1 TD in 5 straight games.
Western Kentucky – LEON ALLEN
Just came back from a knee injury, so a little risky, but he had 2 TD’s last game and Old Dominion is not a good run-D.
Virginia – KEVIN PARKS
He’s a little inconsistent, but faces a weaker UNC run defense this week and he’s an affordable #2 RB with upside.
Utah – DEVONTAE BOOKER
Has 150+ yards in each of the last 3 games. The matchup against USC is decent.
Arizona St – D.J. FOSTER
Always an option in 1pt PPR leagues because his reception totals are good.
Auburn – CAMERON ARTIS-PAYNE
Decent matchup against South Carolinia.
Colorado State – DEE HART – TREYOUS JARRELLS
Hart is the starter and the guy you’ll want to roll with, Jarrells would only be a deep sleeper/flex if you run out of money since he’s about the minimum price. This matchup against Wyoming is a good one.
Utah – JOE HILL
He isn’t used very much, so he’s not a guy you want to use across a bunch of lineups, but if you need a cheap RB with possible upside, UNLV is not a strong run-D and Utah might try to use Hill a bit more in this game.
