Similar to the QB position – there’s not that LOCK WR this week. There’s certainly some good matchup, but I really think you’ll want wildly different lineups in cash vs tournament lineups this week. Considering there’s a decent number of boom/bust type guys – I’ll probably stick to more tournament games this week – but if you can dial in that right cash game lineup – it could be a huge week.
Laquon Treadwell – Ole Miss
Toughest matchup he’s faced in a month but LSU isn’t a brick wall. I think I like him more as a tournament play because I feel his ownership rate might be a tick lower than normal.
Darren Carrington – Oregon
Still like this guy at these prices on DK. Throw out last week against a stingy Stanford defense. He will need to return to mid-season form to reach value on Fanduel. Teammate Bralon Addison is likely due for a bounce back week too.
DeMarcus Ayers – Houston
You can maybe bump Ayers up a bit if Ward doesn’t play.
Michael Thomas – Ohio State
Michigan State’s pass defense is statistically average at best, but most people’s perception is that it’s a brick wall. Most of the good players they’ve had in the secondary are in the NFL now. Thomas is more of a cash game guy since he really doesn’t have 2+ TD upside, but at these prices he’s usable in cash.
I kind of group all these guys as potential pairings with Doughty in DK cash games. I think because WKU spreads the ball around – the odds of you picking the right one for tournaments is too risky – but cash games all can achieve value.
Jordan Payton – UCLA
Always seems to have tournament appeal because he can snap off a big game with 0 TDs … imagine if he can find the endzone. Teammate Thomas Duarte is probably in the same boat as Payton this week as well….except he needs the TD to reach/exceed value.
Thomas Owens – FIU
Probably worth a shot in a few lineups based on matchup/potential targets.
JuJu Smith – USC
A few weeks ago USC vs Oregon would have been a lock Kessler/Smith stack no matter what the price. I consider Kessler toxic waste right now, and Smith isn’t far behind. They are both perfect tournament plays because people like me will be too scared to roster them, but risky of course. Smith has been on/off practice participant this week. I believe he’s pretty seriously injured but will keep playing because he’s the only option for USC.
Devin Lucien – Arizona State
You could probably make a case for a few AZ State WRs but Lucien has been fairly consistent over the last few weeks. This is a favorable matchup.
D.J. Foster – ASU
Always has cash game appeal because of the 10+ touches that are fairly regular.
Artavis Scott – Clemson
There’s some blowout risk to this game and Scott is more of a volume guy … so I’m not in love. However, on Fanduel at these prices he’s not eating up too much of your budget either.
Deon Cain – Clemson
At this price, I think he’s a viable option. Needs to get you a TD – but he has a knack at making big plays.
Stacy Coley – Miami
More of a volume guy, but they should be in a contest with Georgia Tech – so I expect him to get targets all game. Not a guy I’d go out of my way to roster based on matchup, but in this price range he’s not a bad option.
Ricky Jones – Indiana
A Sudfeld/Jones stack would likely make any of the top RBs & WRs playable.
Cayleb Jones – Arizona
Always has tournament appeal, but he’s at the higher end of the risk scale.
Canaan Severin – Virginia
BLEW UP last week. Duke has struggled in the passing game recently.
Matt Vandeberg – Iowa
Is playable on Dk because of the full point PPR. Purdue is a good matchup, if he’s gets a TD it’s all upside after that.
