It’s great to be back, with no baseball, no football – unless you bet college basketball & golf, it’s been a long few days. Time to get back in the NBA grind with today’s sleeper picks. I might come back and add some names to this list as we move along in the day with NBA injury news.
G – Michael Carter-Williams vs Cleveland
I didn’t think Kyrie Irving could get more overrated, but he ended up winning the MVP of the All-Star game. Unfortunately he does have to play D in a real game, and while he might not guard MCW – he is the most consistent 76er player and we always go with someone against no-D Kyrie on this blog.
G – Jamal Crawford vs San Antonio
J.J. Redick is still out. CP3 looked 100% like his (ball-hogging) self in the 4th quarter of the All-Star game, and his salary isn’t what it was before he got hurt, so he could be an option too.
G – Randy Foye vs Phoenix
You’ll want to double check to see if Foye is playing, but he should be. His salary dipped a little since he was battling his own injuries before the All-Star break. If Foye isn’t a big enough sleeper for you – Jordan Hamilton had a great game (for him) before the break, so the coach might look to him again tonight. Ty Lawson is still out with injury, Nate Robinson is out and Andre Miller is MIA – opening the door for players in the backcourt to play more.
F/C – Tristian Thompson at Philadelphia
I’ve been burned a few times having Thompson in my lineup, but I’m going to look past that. Tonight, he has a great matchup, did play well over his last 2 games before the break, and Anderson Varejao is out – leaving basically just Thompson, Tyler Zeller and Anthony Bennett as an inside presence against Philly. The sleeper among that group is probably Bennett – since he usually does nothing, but sometimes wakes up with a good game – and tonight could be that time again.
F/C – John Henson vs Orlando
Should be available for tonight’s game (you’ll want to double check) …. and his salary is low enough on most daily fantasy basketball sites, he provides upside.
F/C – Greg Monroe vs Charlotte
The previous coach of the Pistons had an odd playing rotation for Monroe … sometimes taking him out quickly, and he never really played him big minuets. Since that idiot got fired – the new coach has played Monroe more consistent minuets, and Monroe has been jacking up more shots over the last 2 games as well. I think he is priced about right on most daily fantasy sites, but at least he has upside now.
Patrick Mills or Cory Joseph – With Tony Parker out, they could get more PT.
