Compact set of games on the schedule tonight. Sorry I missed yesterday’s picks – I was at the 49ers game. Anyway, there are some interesting setups due to injuries in Indiana, Houston and Chicago. I think you can target the low-end guys I mention … but remember that the mid-range/high end players are often worth targeting in these injury laden games because they have the ability to fill up the stat sheet big time.
Indiana Pacers –
Okay, so looks like Roy Hibbert is out, and since he’s a massive part of the offense, it should open the door up across the board. PG Donald Sloan, F Chris Copeland, F Solomon Hill, C IAN MAHINMI are the guys you can target. The risk is if Dallas runs away with the game, it could mute some of the production you’d get.
Looks like Dwight Howard and Patrick Beverley are both out again. Last game F Donatas Motiejunas benefited the most, F Kostas Papanikolaou came off the bench, but was mildly effective. G Isaiah Canaan will get the start, and it’s not a bad matchup against New York, but I’d only pay close to minimum price for him. On the higher end, this obviously helps James Harden who has to step up the scoing with Howard, Jones and Beverley out.
G – JOSE CALDERON
I don’t think I’ll risk starting him yet … as I like to wait until at least 1 solid game before I jump on the bandwagong. However he’s likely a minimum priced PG who is starting. He only played 21 mins in his 1st night back, so I’d like that to get closer to 30.
G – AARON BROOKS
Wasn’t as buttery as I thought against Portland the other night, but basically no one on Chicago did much and he only got 24 mins. If Rose is out again, he could gain the start.
