HANDPICKED PLAYER LINEUP
I’ll apologize my team yesterday scored 106.5 points on draft kings, however it did have 2 batters with 21 points, Xander Bogaerts & Corey Dickerson (who was a last minute change for Adam Jones) both had multiple hit games.
My best team last night scored 156.25 points, that was enough to win $3.50
So last night I managed to profit 50 cents, not quite enough to retire on but that 50 cents pays for another 2 quarter contests.
Last Night’s Stat’s
Contests Played: 4
Total Stake: $2.50
Paid places: 1
Friday 22nd July Picks
So my team for today
I’ll be clear this will be unique, as I have entered it into a very large tournament with 14.700 entries.
Madison Bumgarner (SF) $13,000
His points per game were second only to Clayton Kershaw in the 1st half of 2016.
Jason Hammel (CHC) $7,900
His last 10 games haven’t been as strong as the start of the season, but the Brewers are near the bottom in every hitting category.
Travis d’Arnaud (NYM) $2,800
An interchangeable player, who has been better over the last several games than his season averages.
Albert Pujols (LAA) $3,900
Having had back to back 2 HR games this week, the former #1 pick in roto has his swing back to the Cardinal days.
Gordon Beckham (ATL) $3,200
Had a really good game Tuesday, playing him here in hopes he can keep it going.
Manny Machado (BAL) $3,700
In the 1st half Machado was 8th best in points per game amongst hitters, he has struggled lately but his salary reflects that.
Xander Bogaerts (BOS) $4,100
Is he best short stop in the game? He’s a fun player to watch and have in your fantasy line-up.
Ian Desmond (TEX) $4,300
His move to Texas & the outfield has ignited his bat this season.
Jason Heyward (CHC) $3,300
The Cubs seem to be the most popular team in baseball, and with their players near the top in batting stats why not insert a cheaper Cub into the team.
Michael Taylor (WSH) $3,800
Along with Travis d’Arnaud I’ll be looking at line ups when announced, but he brings in a speed element some DFS players overlook.
Instead of posting averages from the 1st half today,
I’m going to post what I think each player will get – so essentially a projection for tonight’s games.
Madison Bumgarner (SF)
7 IP, 1 ER, 8 K, 3 HA, W = 31.95
Jason Hammel (CHC)
6.2 IP, 1 ER, 6 K, 4 HA, 1 BB, W = 26
Travis d’Arnaud (NYM)
1 H, 1 BB, 1 R = 7
Albert Pujols (LAA)
2H, 1 2B, 1 RBI = 10
Gordon Beckham (ATL)
1 H, 1 R = 5
Manny Machado (BAL)
2 H, 1 HR, 1 R, 2 RBI = 19
Xander Bogaerts (BOS)
2 H, 1 2B, 1 BB, 2 R, 1 RBI = 16
Ian Desmond (TEX)
1 H, 1 HR, 1 R, 1 RBI = 14
Jason Heyward (CHC)
1 H, 1 BB, 1 R = 7
Michael Taylor (WSH)
1 H, 1 BB, 1 SB = 10
I’d be happy with 145.95 points, will it exactly come in that breakdown. Hell No but I think about where points come from. The contest this team is entered into will probably be won with a total of 200 pts, but if both my starters combine for 60-65 points, and I have 4 HR’s with every player scoring. Then it should be very competitive.
A late swap, see’s me select Khris Davis to replace Michael A Taylor, Hopefully He will do well for me!
Stay tuned for the machine, I’m told he had to reboot yesterday!
LOL – thank you – our guest Martyn who writes the handpicked lineup does a great job. Yours truly did have to re-boot yesterday. It’s actually a fun process during this blog because I am incredibly busy at the moment – and for the next 30 – 45 days I will be extremely busy moving/renovating a new home.
During stretches over the next few weeks, I may not have the internet – or access to a computer. This is the exact situation many casual grinders find themselves in … but still want to play DFS.
I’m attempting to find a way to balance a busy work & family life with playing DFS. So far – no good.
Overall Stats so far:
Events Entered: 3
Money Lost: $3
No worries. It could be game selection, playing on FD, could be off nights. One night I had a pitcher not even play. So I’m not going to abandon what I’m doing yet. I am going to change up my lineup source tonight. Tonight I’m going to try a lineup source that provides a free cash pick – in order to entice you to pay for selections (or tip them) if you win. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve seen these services before – and I received countless requests to provide lineups for CFB. In the end, it’s not my thing to provide exact lineups – but I see no issue in people posting/using any kind of lineup you want.
Lineup source tonight will be DFSCashLineups.com
Ultimately for DFS to succeed. Casual players at least need the thought that they can win. If it takes hours of grinding to win – DFS will be a small niche inside a much larger fantasy sports universe. If I can stay engaged with MLB DFS over the off-season by picking up lineups from sources – that’s good for the industry & I think we should support sites that contribute to this ecosystem.
If you have a different opinion, feel free to leave it below – always love hearing from you all.
