Last night I was asleep before the first pitch,
The time difference it’s the only downside, well anyway this morning I saw I had won, one win of $3 means I was up $1.75 on the night.
It was the team I posted yesterday, and it only fell short of my hopes by 1 HR, There was nothing special about my team, apart from Arenado’s 24 points, but everybody contributed and my total was 124.9 Points. Which in the contest it was entered into placed 1197th.
Last Night’s Stat’s
Contests Played: 1
Total Stake: $1.25
Paid places: 1
Onto the 14 game slate starting early,
And there’s a number of misleading BVP numbers.
A lot of hitters struggling in average against their slated opponents; however the few hits they have had have been for extra bases.
P Trevor Bauer (CLE) $11,300
His last start saw him go 8 innings only giving up 2 earned runs; His K/9 is 8.27 for 2016 so far so he is a well worth pick. The Oakland A’s are 25th in total runs scored this season so the match-up is there.
P Jacob deGrom (NYM) $9,100
His last start which was in San Francisco was awful, His K/9 is 8.72 He does face the 5th best team in Runs scored and in St. Louis but he is well capable of posting good numbers.
C Brian McCann (NYY) $3,100
McCann is 2/8 with 1 HR against Iwakuma, He is in an 0-9 slump at the moment but he seems a good chance as any catcher to score 14 points with 1 swing of the wood.
1B Carlos Santana (CLE) $4,100
Against Graveman he’s 3/9 with a HR, He’s batting .250 this August which is slightly better than his season average.
2B Jonathan Schoop (BAL) $3,500
Against Roark he is 2/3 those 2 both went yard, His 2016 totals so far have him with 20 HR and a .284 average.
3B Josh Donaldson (TOR) $4,400
Donaldson lead all hitters pre all-star break, 3/7 against Shoemaker he has cooled from a hot start but his price of $4,400 reflects that and he is still a huge danger.
SS Elvis Andrus (TEX) $3,300
My last pick, Andrus is a solid $3,300 player. And in the last 7 days he is 8/17 so he could prove to be the best value player today.
OF Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) $4,200
Cespedes is 3 for 5 with a HR against Martinez, also been hot since he returned from injury.
OF Nick Markakis (ATL) $4,100
Against Greinke he is 6/22 (.273) with 2 doubles & 1 HR. 4 of his 9 HR’s this season have come this month.
OF Justin Upton (DET) $2,900
Upton broke out of a slump in the Red Sox series, his past 3 games he is 6/11 with 2 Doubles & 2 HR. Against Duffey he is 1/3 and that 1 was a HR.
My hopes for today are
P Trevor Bauer (CLE) – 30 Points
P Jacob deGrom (NYM) – 25 Points
C Brian McCann (NYY) – 7 Points
1B Carlos Santana (CLE) – 11 Points
2B Jonathan Schoop (BAL) – 11 Points
3B Josh Donaldson (TOR) – 14 Points
SS Elvis Andrus (TEX) – 9 Points
OF Yoenis Cespedes (NYM) – 14 Points
OF Nick Markakis (ATL) – 10 Points
OF Justin Upton (DET) – 10 Points
That would bring me 141 points, which is in line with paid places most of the time. Of course I can’t expect every hitter to HR but I’d like to think each player could post 2 scoring totals. Looking at this team apart from Bauer it looks like a feast or famine.
This team will either post crazy high totals or nothing at all.
