Medium sized slate of NBA games to pick from on Monday November 23, 2015.
Draftkings: Tristan Thompson, Gordon Hayward, Cousins
Fanduel: Tristan Thompson, Giannis
Yahoo: Tristan Thompson, Danny Green
There’s LOTS of value at guard tonight. Sometimes that means in tournaments … guys like Westbrook, Bledsoe, Knight, Jackson, Rubio, Oladipo, Wiggins, Walker, D-Wade … ect might be lesser owned than normal because grinders love to flock to value plays in tournaments. Given the shear number of quality guards on the slate, I’d probably rather pay up for guard production in tournaments – and find value at Forward, hoping most grinders will do the opposite.
G – Jose Calderon
G – Hollis Thompson
G – Jeremy Lin
G – JR Smith
G – Nik Stauskas
G – Rodney Hood
G – Danny Green
C – Spencer Hawes
11/22 Recap: My plan yesterday was to play Curry on Fanduel, Westbrook on Yahoo and Anthony Davis in tournaments on Draftkings. My plan was solid except only 1 of 10 games actually filled on Yahoo – foiling my exposure to Westbrook. Curry didn’t do much so I bricked on Fanduel.
My tournament lineup on Draftkings was inches close to being really good. I only had 1 player brick hard (Dirk) – and it was the player I was worried about going into the night, so I feel good about my lineup picking skills since things played out almost exactly how I thought it might for the guys in my lineup.
0-4 Fanduel Cash
1-0 Yahoo Cash
0-1 Draftkings Tournament
As you can see – Dirk was the huge let down. I was 2 points from the cashing position … so if Dirk hit projections of 28 – 30 fantasy points, I probably move a few leaps up the tournament pay scale. Honestly, on a full slate – I build a second lineup, likely where I swap Dirk & someone else out, so I’m not even sure I could have done much in this spot … but I feel great about how I landed on everyone else in my lineup. Aminu wasn’t great, but against the Lakers I thought it was a good spot. I thought last night was a perfect night to play D. Russell because everyone would be playing Curry/Westbrook (plus I watch most Lakers games so I have a good idea how Russell is developing game to game). Also, if you’re going to play AD – right now he’s perfect for tournaments – and if he levels off in consistency you can use him in cash later. Remember – the NBA is a long grind, that’s why I’m posting these recaps everyday even when I lose. Even though I lost a few bucks last night, I was close to having a real good night. A few tweaks & changes tonight and I’m back in the winners circle. That’s the plan.
