NFL Daily Fantasy Football – RB Sleeper Picks – Week 1

Here are some “sleeper” running back picks for week 1 of the NFL season. While virtually no offensive player in the NFL is a ‘sleeper’ because of the intense media coverage each team receives – but this list of running backs are guys that are possibly overlooked for week 1. Depending on what daily fantasy football site you play on … most of these RB’s are below the average salary so they can save you some money, provide some upside and allow you to spend your money on other positions. As the season rolls along, more obscure names might make the list, but essentially for week 1 we have a list of cheap #1/2 NFL RB’s.

WEEK 1 – NFL WR Picks

New Orleans at Atlanta – PIERRE THOMAS
With Darren Sproles gone, I would expect Thomas will expand his role as a pass-catcher. The matchup is pretty good too.

Cleveland at Pittsburgh – BEN TATE
With a rookie as the primary backup, Tate should get the bulk of the touches. With his reduced price tag there’s some room for upside. Faces a Steelers defense which has some younger players than what’s been there in the past. Tate is actually cheaper than Trent Richardson on DraftKings this week.

SF at Dallas – FRANK GORE
Gore is the same price as Ben Tate and cheaper than Trent Richardson, Bishop Sankey, and C.J. Spiller. Old-man Gore is a fairly safe play against a bad defense and doesn’t cost you tons of money.

New York Giants at Detroit – JOIQUE BELL
You have to scroll down quite a ways until you reach Bell’s name on the daily fantasy football RB’s rankings this week but he’s a viable play even when Reggie Bush is playing.

NY Giants at Detroit – RASHAD JENNINGS
The matchup isn’t really all that great and the Giants have looked horrible … but that was the preseason. Jennings is way down the list of RB’s and like Ben Tate, shares the backfield with a rookie – so he provides you some upside at these values.

Cincinnati at Baltimore – BERNARD PIERCE
Looks like he’s healthy and with Ray Rice out, Pierce should get plenty of chances in this game. I don’t see a huge game coming from him mainly because of the defense he faces and Pierce isn’t a big play guy … but should give you 8 – 12 points pretty easily from the RB position this week.

Buffalo at Chicago – FRED JACKSON
Is WAY cheaper than C.J. Spiller on DraftKings and I believe provides some upside if he can gets some receptions in this game.

Both aren’t getting any love, and they face a pretty solid Jets defense … but both are super cheap this week. The Raiders will run the ball no matter who’s at QB and I think considering how cheap both these players are, they provide some upside if they can manage to score a TD or rip off a big run/catch.
