It’s been an eventful week in the NFL and most of it unfortunately has nothing to do with on-field play. Sadly, I think this trend will continue in the NFL, but we’ll try to ignore it and enjoy the players that are playing.
I’ve got a list of “sleeper” RB’s this week and most are very recognizable … so not sleepers. However it’s tough this early in the season to find deep sleepers, but the guys I have listed below might get passed over this week.
Kansas City at Denver – MONTEE BALL
I think his price could be higher given the matchup and how much he was used in game 1. Ronnie Hillman looks like he’s out again meaning Ball shouldn’t come off the field much this game.
New Orleans at Cleveland – TERRANCE WEST – ISAIAH CROWELL
West looks like the guy that will get the most carries and he’s not very expensive. Too bad lots of grinders will be on this, but he’s got a solid matchup so you can’t blame them.
New England at Minnesota – MATT ASIATA – JERICK McKINNON
Wow! Two all-pro running backs get booted in 1 week in the NFL and the Vikings are left short handed. Asiata is listed as the backup and has some fill-in duty for Peterson before. Risky, but New England got owned last week on the ground.
Houston at Oakland – ARIAN FOSTER
I know he’s a top 10 running back, but he’s always hampered with injuries and he’s not as good as he once was … but does face Oakland this week – who gave up the most rushing yards in the NFL week 1 against the Jets.
New York Jets at Green Bay Packs – CHRIS IVORY – CHRIS JOHNSON
Johnson is the starter, but they had about the same amount of carries week 1. The Packers looked pretty weak against the run week 1 against Seattle and these two likely aren’t selected in many leagues.
Chicago Bears at SF 49ers – CARLOS HYDE – FRANK GORE
People got burned by Gore in week 1 so they might avoid him week 2 despite a great matchup. Hyde only got 7 carries but looked great in just about each of them.
