Week four of the 2013 college football season gets under way this week. The lineup of games on Saturday provides a solid list of fantasy players to choose from for each position.
Top Five Quarterbacks Week 4:
Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M – Manziel is a viable option week and in week out at the quarterback position. This week a matchup with SMU could provide him another week to put up big numbers. In SMU’s first game of the season they allowed over four hundred yards to a freshman quarterback. He’s the most expensive QB on almost every site … but this site has him ranked #2 and at $14,000
Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville – Bridgewater leads the Cardinals up against a bad Florida International team. The Wildcats have allowed over 30 points in the teams three losses.
Aaron Murray, Georgia – Murray and the Bulldogs take on North Texas in what could be a high scoring game. Murray could put together a highlight reel of big plays.
Sean Mannion, Oregon St. – The Beavers face off against an Aggies team allowing 41 points per game. Look for Mannion to get an opportunity to throw the ball early and often.
Baker Mayfield, Texas Tech – The true freshman will get a chance to go up against a much smaller in Texas State this week. Mayfield has 996 yards and eight touchdowns in three games.
Top Five Running Backs Week 4:
Fitzgerald Toussaint, Michigan – The Wolverines are going up against a UConn team that has allowed 430 yards on the ground in two games this season. He will lose some yards to Devin Gardner but should have an opportunity for a good game. This site has him undervalued at $7,800 and should be in your lineup there. Additional, this site has him as the 8th most expensive back and provides good value there.
Jordon James, UCLA – James has averaged six yards per carry this season and should increase the numbers this week. The Bruins take on the worse rush defense in college in New Mexico St who are allowing 330 rushing yards per game. James is only $11,100 on this site … a better value than most RB’s.
Jordan Hall, Ohio St. – Hall is in the top five in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns for the Buckeyes.
Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin – Gordon is coming off a 193 yard game last week is looking to continue his success in 2013. In three games Gordon has 477 yards on the ground and four rushing touchdowns.
Mark Weisman, Iowa – Weisman and the Hawkeyes are going up a Western Michigan team that has allowed 735 yards in three games. They have also allowed eight rushing touchdowns.
Top Five Wide Recievers Week 4:
Stefon Diggs, Maryland – Diggs has become one of the best wide receivers in college and is just in his sophomore season for the Terps. A tough matchup against WVU but I still think he provides good value as a #1 option since he’s the 7th most expensive WR on this site.
Tony Jones, Northwestern – The Wildcats are going up against a Black Bears team that allowed 182 yards and a touchdown last week to a single receiver.
Mike Evans, Texas A&M – Week in and week out Evans has been Johnny Manziel’s number one weapon. Look for that to continue in week four.
Brandin Cooks, Oregon St. – Since Cook’s quarterback made the top list he needs to make it as well going up against an Aggies team struggling to stop opposing offenses.
Devante Davis, UNLV – Davis has a favorable matchup this week going up against Western Illionis. Last week against Central Michigan, Davis caught seven passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns.
Top Two Tight Ends Week 4:
Jace Amaro, Texas Tech – Amaro has become a favorite of quarterback Baker Mayfield. In the last two weeks he has combined for 17 catches for 239 yards and a touchdown.
Gator Hoskins, Marshall – Hoskins is coming off his best yardage game last week will look to continue his streak against Virginia Tech this weekend.
